Sparked by a reimaging of the historic Freight House Shops, Station Square is being transformed into a vibrant gathering space in which community members will meet, visit, learn and do business. The exciting renovations will create a medical training school for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and feature five to seven chef-inspired eateries occupying 70,000 square feet between the Freight House and Commerce Court. Designing spaces with high ceilings will reveal a unique glimpse of the Freight House’s original architecture and serve as a tribute to the structure’s industrial roots. Planned improvements will create an innovative hub for collaboration that will serve as a catalyst for the continued growth of the region.
